PDF Reader ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information our app accesses, what is collected by the third-party services built into it, and the choices you have. By using our App, you agree to the terms described here.

1. Your Documents Stay on Your Device

All document features run locally on your device. We do not operate servers that receive your files, and the App never uploads them:

• PDF / Image Documents: The App accesses the files you select so you can view, annotate, sign, merge, split, compress, and convert them. File contents, file names, annotations, and signatures are processed on your device and are not sent to us or to any third party.
• Camera Access: Used only by the page scanner to capture pages and turn them into PDFs. Captured images stay on your device.
• Photos and Files: You choose documents and photos through the system picker. Files you create are saved to your device storage.
• Secure Vault and Biometrics: If you use the vault, unlocking is handled by your device's own fingerprint, face, or screen-lock system. The App receives only a success or failure result and never has access to your biometric data.
• Read Aloud: When you ask the App to read a page aloud, the page text is passed to your device's own text-to-speech engine. The App does not send it anywhere else.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App is free and supported by advertising from Google AdMob. It shows banner, native, interstitial, and app open ads. To serve and measure ads, Google's SDK may collect and process:

• Device identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID
• IP address, from which an approximate location may be derived
• Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, and language
• Ad interaction and diagnostic data, such as ad views, taps, and crash or performance information

This data is collected and processed by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can read more about how Google uses data from apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

3. Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how features are used so we can improve them. It records general usage events, such as which screens and tools are opened, the selected theme and language, and approximate file size when a document is opened. It also collects device information and an app instance identifier. It never records the contents or names of your documents.

Analytics collection is switched off until the consent step described in Section 5 allows it.

4. Remote Configuration (Firebase Remote Config)

The App uses Firebase Remote Config to download app settings from Google's servers, such as how often ads are shown and the link to this policy. To do this, Firebase uses a Firebase installation ID, which identifies the app installation and not you personally.

5. Consent and Your Choices

• Consent message: Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), the App shows a Google consent message on first launch. Ads and analytics start only after this step, and follow the choices you make there.
• Change your choice: Where a consent message applies, you can reopen it at any time from Settings → Ad privacy options inside the App.
• Ad personalization: You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
• Your documents: You can delete any document from within the App or your device's file manager. Uninstalling the App removes the data it stores.

6. Data Sharing and Retention

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not receive or store your documents. The data described in Sections 2 to 4 is processed by Google as our service provider and is retained according to Google's policies. Google may process data on servers located outside your country.

7. Data Security

Your documents remain in your device's storage and are protected by your device's own security. Data collected by the Google services above is transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect, request, or store any personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
